We are a small family run business whose aim is to give an excellent personal service providing quality occasion wear at affordable prices. Our showroom, which was once our family room, is part of, but separate from our living area and provides a comfortable, private area to have fun and try on lots of beautiful clothes. There is never any obligation to buy - we would rather you went away with nothing than got something you were less than delighted with.
Our family consists of Malcolm, Commercial Manager for a construction company who plays a very important role as financial adviser, chauffeur and carrier when we do fashion shows etc. Christine, supply teacher, who’d be happy to fully replace teaching with this venture. Their son Duncan 21, who
Our family consists of Malcolm, Commercial Manager for a construction company who plays a very important role as financial adviser, chauffeur and carrier when we do fashion shows etc. Christine, supply teacher, who’d be happy to fully replace teaching with this venture. Their son Duncan 21, who
is currently having a gap year from university but gives advice on business which he has studied. Daughter Laurie 17, is studying for A levels and very enthusiastic about fashion. She helps with buying, selling and modelling. We are also very fortunate to have many supportive friends, happy to give opinions and sometimes help by modelling our clothes.
The idea for the business came about 2 years ago when Laurie was looking for a prom dress. Finding something a bit different at a reasonable price seemed to be impossible. We finally went to a lady who lived quite far away, but sold dresses from her home. As Christine was looking for an alternative to teaching, she started to consider whether or not this would be a viable business. After completing a Business Link course and successfully obtaining a business grant we opened in September and are very pleased with comments and feedback from our customers. It has now totally taken over her life (but in a good way!)
